Possibly The Best Gluten Free Black Bean Burgers Ever

We have to have a conversation about these black bean burgers. But first, this is not my recipe, and I'm not going to post it here. Click here to get the recipe over at Sally's Baking. These burgers are so good, they freeze well, and everyone loves them.

Look how delicious and textured and... MMMMMMMMMMM SO GOOD! I make these a few times a month, and they don't last more than a week. Each burger is the perfect serving size for a nice lunch or maybe dinner with a nice salad and some fries on the side. They are just the best.

Follow the recipe as written with the following changes. Use your gluten-free flour mix (I use King Arthur Measure for Measure GF flour) and GF breadcrumbs. Swap out the FETA for parmesan and add 1/2 cup of nutritional yeast and about 1 tsp. MSG to the ingredients.

I like to make these into patties on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Then I freeze them directly. They are excellent baked as the recipe calls for, but I usually make them ahead of time for a quick lunch or dinner. I get about 6 of them to a batch. You can easily double the recipe if you need more at a clip.

With this batch, I pan-fried the patty straight from the freezer for about 3 minutes on each side over medium heat. Then another few minutes to melt the cheese. I cut a few slices off of this Truffle Gruyere Cheddar that was gifted to me for my birthday. It was TO DIE FOR, it was so good. You can use a mix of gruyere and cheddar if you can't find that fancy pants cheese

Anyway.

Let's put this black bean burger together.

We've already added the cheese. I used the Shoprite-brand Promise gluten-free sourdough bread from the bakery section. It doesn't come frozen, it acts like normal bread, and it doesn't mold in half a day. It's lovely and doesn't cost $47 per loaf of bread (yes, I'm looking at you, gluten-free bread companies).

Add BBQ sauce (I like Kinders) to the bottom slice of bread, a healthy bed of lettuce, your cheesed burger patty, tomato, onion, and finally top it all off with honey mustard dressing (I like Ken's). You can now top your sandwich and eat the crap out of it. I promise you it'll be the best black bean burger you've ever had.
